My fear of making heaven: Four (4) reasons why I don't want Jesus to come now! (by Masterpiece David Olawade)
"The greatest reason for a revival's end is when the church begins to look for the return of the Lord instead of pursuing a greater breakthrough in the great commission. That kind of hunger for heaven is not encouraged in scriptures. It turns the blessed hope into blessed escape. To want Jesus to come now is to sentence billions of people to hell forever"- Bill Johnson.
1. I WILL BE JUDGED FOR WHAT I COULD HAVE DONE THAT I'M YET TO DO.
"We are not only going to be judged for what we have done; we are going to be judged for what we could have done"
There are so many instructions God has given us and many assignments we are yet to carry out. Day by day, I long to see them done. Some seem beyond us but I know all that is needed to get them done has been made available to us.
"faithful is He that has called who also will do it....",
"it is the Lord that walketh in us both to will and to do of His good pleasures...".
2. THERE ARE OPPORTUNITIES GIVEN TO US THAT WE ARE YET TO HARNESS
"How shall I feel at the judgment, if multitudes of missed opportunities pass before me in full review, and all my excuses prove to be disguises of my cowardice and pride?"- Dr. W.E Sangler.
Having the knowledge of Christ and been filled with the Holy Spirit is an edge that comes with diverse opportunities to explore and harness as a pilgrim on earth. We are stewards of depths of God and we are accountable to every opportunities and privileges we have in Christ.
Folding your hands in taking proven actions to reach out at this time of your life is spiritual irresponsibility. If the only thing you can be imagining in this season is waiting for Christ to come, then you are wasting away and you are of all men most miserable.
3. THERE ARE DEPOSITS IN US THAT ARE STILL UNTAPPED
"Hell begins on the day when God grants us a clear vision of all that we might have achieved, of all the gifts which we might have wasted, of all that we might have done which we did not do"- Gian-Catlo-Menotli
My greatest fear in making heaven is, standing in heaven to hear the host of heaven revealing to me the resources, deposits in me that I left untapped, tasks on earth I failed to accomplish and signals sent to me on earth I failed to be sensitive to.
I don't want to be called "wicked and slothful" by my master in the last day like the servant that buried his talent because he was afraid. I want to hear this at the end of my conquest on earth: "thou good and faithful servant, enter into my rest".
Fellow soldiers, there is no time. We are to occupy till He comes, the King's business requires urgency.
4. WHAT ARE WE DOING WITH ALL HE HAS GIVEN TO US?
What are you doing with those divine instructions?
What have you done with those giftings and talents?
What have you achieved with that anointing you have accumulated over time?
Where are the results of your expertise and prowess?
There is a great demand on our life. Tell my generation, we are coming. We are the ones delaying our King's return because we are yet to do what He has committed to our hands and we are not prepared to receive Him.
Good morning Fam.
