Avoid regrets; Focus your energy on moving forward

Most individuals live there life regreting their past actions, always feeling sorry for themselves, having the thoughts of 'Had I known' syndrome dwell on them, believing that all is over for them and nothing good can come from them. They spend so much of their time (life) dwelling on the past that they forget that there is a present and still a future.

Individuals with this state of mind view themselves and their situation as a burden which they have to carry for the rest of their lives. Most often time, they forget and give up all hope of reconciling with their past, and develop more focus on living with it.

They learn to live the reminder of the live with it, either by bearing the burden of the pain and stress that torments them or they seek out a new path and try to forget their previous life. This method of dealing with this challenge is not the best because the pain keeps coming back. The situation never changes unless it is dwell with.

How to deal with it

The first time to do is knowing you are a human and bound to make mistakes, like the saying goes: NO HUMAN IS PERFECT. We all are bound to make mistakes but how it is handled, gives us the strength to keep on moving. When we understand this, the next step is acknowledging that we were wrong. Since the feeling of regret is felt this motive has already been established.

The feeling of regret establishes two facts: When an individual feels that he/she is wrong then they establish the fact that they have made a mistake and they want it corrected; and Having the want to correct your mistake, shows that you are sorry for it and want it resolved.

The next step is not dwelling on what went wrong; An individual shouldn't harbour the thoughts of their action in their mind. They should let it go especially when it has already happened, whether they know the consequences or not. The best thing is to focus on what to do next.

The final step is to spend your energy on moving forward to finding the answer. Answer in this context is the solution. With action comes consequences, whether these consequences are made aware of or not....all actions carry consequences. With the knowledge of this, Individuals should seek out ways to correct their mistakes and avoid the feeling of regret.
Correcting the mistake might be simple as well as tedious, depending on the consequences of the action. This should not be what prevents/stop you from doing what is right.
