Rapper Dax has recounted how he rose to fame, starting from scratch and having to do it on his own despite working jobs in school.
Taking to his social media page, he said, "Wow. Can’t believe it’s already been 4 years since I graduated, stopped playing basketball, quit the overnight janitor job, and decided to become a full time music artist. I’ve never made excuses.
"My parents couldn’t pay for my education so I spent 10 years working my ass off and got full basketball scholarships at the Junior College, D1 and D2 level. I went to 3 schools in 4 years and got my degree in communications in 4 and 1/2. I led the league in scoring my senior year at Newman University and turned down overseas contracts after I found my passion for poetry and motivational speaking. I jumped in head first.
"It was the 1st time in my life I felt I was making a difference. I had no ties or connections to anyone in entertainment so I then built my platform from scratch by myself with poetry and music for the people SPREAD BY THE PEOPLE. If there’s anything you can learn from me it’s to stop waiting on other people to validate you and CROWN and CO-SIGN YOURSELF.
"The only validation you need is from GOD and that is a common birth right. If you were born, YOU WERE CHOSEN. NOBODY CARES how you feel and NOBODY I repeat NOBODY is coming to save you. This life and outcome is 100% your responsibility.
"KEEP WORKING, BE YOURSELF and choose GREATNESS every single day you wake up. What people think of you is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! If you’re making a positive impact it is YOUR DUTY and OBLIGATION to spread it!
"I’m pissed off for greatness not only for myself BUT FOR EVERYONE WHO IS IN THIS FAMILY WE’VE CREATED and I despise mediocrity. It’s a diseases and I refuse to pass it down to future generations. IMPACT is what I bleed. The next chapter begins now! Love you all! WE ARE THE LABEL!
