Niger state police command has directed vehicle owners and drivers in the state to desist from covering their vehicle number plate with tarpaulin.
This was made known in a statement issued by command spokesperson, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, stating that the command has observed with dismay the rate such act by drivers and vehicle owners without any reason.
State commissioner of police, CP Bala Kuryas directed area commanders and divisional police officers to commence aggressive enforcement against covering of number plate by vehicle owners and drivers.
The command, while stating anyone found violating the directive shall be prosecuted accordingly, urged members of the public to cooperate with the police and other security agencies as the measure is aimed at strengthening internal security of the state.
