Mikel Arteta and Jonas Eidevall signs contract extension with Arsenal

Arsenal has announced that Mikel Arteta and Jonas Eidevall have signed new contracts with the club.

Arteta had signed a contract extension until the end of season 2024/25, said he is excited about the extension, and wants to take the club to the next level and compete with top teams in the Champions League.

"When I spoke to Josh he could see the club at the same point and he wanted to take the club the way I wanted to do it. So everything that he’s said, and that Stan has said when I’ve been together with both of them, they’ve always delivered.

“We want to take the club to the next level and to compete really with the top teams. In order to do that, we have to be playing in the Champions League. We have to be able to evolve the team, improve our players, improve all departments, generate even more connection with our fans, improve the atmosphere at the Emirates, be able to recruit top, top talent and the best people for this club to drive this project to that level," he said.

Also, Eidevall has extended his contract to the end of 2023/24 season, after an impressive first season in London, in which he has taken the Women's Super League title challenge all the way to the final weekend.

He said his extension is great, and would allow him to continue with the club and the people, in other to achieve things together, which he is looking forward to.

Josh Kroenke, speaking on behalf of our owners Kroenke, Sports & Entertainment, said, his father and himself are delighted to extend both contracts, which provides stability and clarity for the future and helps us all move forward together effectively.

He said Arteta commitment and passion are clear to see, and the club is confident he will get them back to competing for the top trophies in the game.

Also, Josh commended Jonas for a fantastic start to his career in England, stating that he has done a terrific job with the team.

He added that the club is confident that he will continue to take them forward in the years ahead.
