The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has revealed that an unidentified body was found on runway 18R/36L on Thursday, May 19, 2022.
Ag. General manager, Corporate affairs, Faithful Hope-Ivbaze made this known in a statement on May 20, 2022.
She disclosed that a motorized cleaner, that was cleared to carry out a derruberization and sweeping of the runway discovered the remains, and escalated the situation to relevant departments.
The runway was temporarily closed to allow immediate evacuation of the remains.
She said investigations are ongoing, and a report will be issued accordingly.
