Sokoto state Governor Waziri Tambuwal has declared an immediate curfew within metropolis of Sokoto township for the next 24 hours.
This comes following the sad killing of Deborah Samuel, female student of Shehu Shagari college of education, by fellow students for alleged blasphemy on Thursday, May 12.
He appealed to people of the state to observe law and order and calm down on the restiveness currently pervading the state.
Tambuwal said everyone should, please, in the interest of peace go back home and observe this measures, with a view of the reestablishment of peace, law and order in the state, adding that it is not in the interest of anyone for them to have a breakdown of law and order.
He appealed for restraint, and for people to observe and respect the rule of law.
