Operatives of Kano state police command has arrested a suspected drug dealer, while on surveillance patrol along Kwanar Dangora, Kiru LGA, Kaduna - Kano Border.
Command spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa disclosed that the suspect identified as Agbo Victor aged 33 of Edo state, was arrested on March 20, by a team of Operation Puff Adder led by CSP Hassan Nasir Jega, officer in charge, highway patrol Kano.
Victor was intercepted driving a dark green Honda Hennessy motor vehicle containing two hundred and fifty (250) parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp, valued one million, seven hundred and fifty thousand naira (N1,750,000:00) packed inside the motor vehicle boot.
On investigation, the suspect confessed to the items packed in the Motor Vehicle boot are 250 parcels of Indian Hemp, that, he transported the Indian Hemp from Edo State en route to Kano State with the intent to deliver it to one Alhaji, where he was arrested at Kaduna-Kano Border. Having learned about his suspected arrest, the said Alhaji escaped to an unknown destination.
The Commissioner of Police directed that case had been transferred to the Command's criminal investigation department, narcotics section for discreet investigation. The suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
