President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that the Ramadan period offer a unique opportunity to feel the hunger experienced by the poor, so as to feel what it is like to be deprived and marginalized.
He said this, while welcoming the month of Ramadan, urging Muslims to seek greater personal discipline, which is necessary for the realization of a great nation.
According to him, We must all desist from spending lavishly and wasting food while others face hunger and destitution. Caring for our neighbours, and the poor and the marginalized, should always be our priority.
Buhari called on Muslims to use the opportunity to pray for peace in Nigeria and around the world, and for healing and harmony everywhere.
He wished all Muslims a successful completion of the fasting period.
