Police arrests notorious female fraudster that specializes in swapping ATM cards in Kano


Operatives of Kano state police command has arrested a notorious female fraudster that specializes in swapping ATM cards at ATM point from unsuspecting members of the public.

Command spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa said that on March 18, a team of Operation Puff Adder led by Nassawara divisional police officer, SP Daniel Itse Amah, while on surveillance patrol along Murtala Mohammed way intercepted one Osasi Chinozom Juliet aged 24, of Enugu road, Sabon Gari Kano. 

Juliet has been on the wanted list of the command for fraud related cases; the operatives on searching her at the spot found 17 ATM cards from different banks on her.

After her arrest, one Yusuf Tijjani made a complain that on March 17, the suspect approached him while seeking assistance to operate and ATM, deceitfully collected and changed his ATM card, and withdrew the sum of fifteen thousand naira (N15,000) from his account. 

On investigation, Juliet confessed to the crime, stating that she specializes in swapping ATM cards by claiming to be a staff of the bank where she met customers to assist them to operate the machine. She has ATM cards from almost all the banks in Kano, making it easy for her to swap the ATMs. She claimed to have withdrawn money from many people's accounts after swapping their ATM cards. 

She has been charged to court. 

The commissioner of police, CP Samaila Dikko reiterated that there would be no hiding place for criminals in the state, advising them to repent or leave.
