Pastor Ebenezer Diyaolu has advised couples against turning seperation and divorce to a doctrine.
He stated this on his facebook page, explaining that seperation is not the first thing to consider when couples are having marital storm, stating that there are other provisions for solution that they can explore.
He stressed couples should stay in their marriages, except in a life threatening situation.
Diyaolu said, "Because you greeted your wife in the morning and she did not answer you, you are shouting " I will separate from you". Because your husband eyed 😒you when you spoke rubbish thing, you are shouting, "They said separation is allowed. I will separate from you".
"Because you asked your husband to buy Shawarma or Cold stone for you and he has not bought it for the past 3 weeks, you are shouting ' I will separate from you, atleast they said separation is allowed"
"Don't turn :Separation' and 'Divorce' to a doctrine and be shouting it up and down.
"Separation is not the first thing to consider when you are having marital storm. There are other provisions for solution that you can explore. Except in the face of life-threatening issues, stay in your marriage!
"Some people that don't even want to stay in their marriages are now using the present issue as a launching pad to jump out of their marriages.
"See ehenn, marriage is still a sacred institution and its permanency is still to be preached and taught by all true ministers.
"No minister should re-write the Bible just because of what's happening in our world now. Forever oh Lord, your word is settled!
"Don't rubbish the sacredness of the marriage institution. Marry and stay married. Challenges are part of life and marriage. Stay together and overcome the challenges together.
"I am not writing this for everybody. It is for kingdom people. We must not cheapen the marriage institution."
