IGP Usman Alkali presents cheque worth N4.2m to next of kins of seven deceased police officers


Commissioner of police, Zamfara state command, CP Ayuba Elkanah has represented cheques worth four million, two hundred thousand naira (N4,200,000) to next of kins of seven deceased police officers who died while in active service. 

Command spokesperson, SP Mohammed Shehu disclosed that the commissioner presented the cheques in representation of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali. 

He noted that the presentation of the cheques is part of the IGP's family insurance welfare scheme being given to the families of deceased police officers.

CP Elkanah thanked the IGP for the gesture and described it as timely and will go along way in alleviating suffering being faced by families of police officers. 

He assured the IGP that, officers and men of the Command will continue to put in their best to ensure peace, security and safety of Zamfara state and Nigeria as a whole. 

The CP charged the beneficiaries to utilize the money judiciously, noting that, in the last five months, the Command had received similar  cheques from the Inspector General of Police seven times and presented same to the beneficiaries. This will serve as morale booster to the serving members of the force to continue to discharge theit duty effectively. 

One of the benefiting families,  Gloria Hussaini, who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries thanked  the Inspector General of Police for the gesture and promised to use the money judiciously.
