American singer, Kehlani Ashley has written to herself as she celebrated her 27th birthday, on April 24, 2022.
Taking to her social media, she said, "Dear 27 year old Kehlani Ashley,
"You feel different. We are all working to become someone our child-selves would be proud of, and someone that same child needed. Little you would not only be proud, but would be in awe of you now.
"You are relentlessly curious, whimsically wide-eyed, you believe in magic again. You are fearless, your bravery tender and soft, getting sweeter by the second, but finally to yourself. You know exactly what you want from life. You feed all of your passions, big and small. You prioritize your joy.
"You are a better listener these days, you are ever-present. You keep eye contact, and you don't cover your mouth when you laugh. You lean into all of your feelings because you've learned to alchemize. You are a better friend. A better daughter. Most importantly, you are an incredible mother.
"You are a mother your mother says she wishes was hers. You are a mover, a shaker, and at last you have opened the blinds and let the sunshine in. You dance when you eat, you sing in the shower again. You even wear open-toed shoes.
"You are more beautiful without makeup, and more inspiring with less words. Somehow your smile at 27 is most like your smile at 9, and you just keep getting younger. You've arrived, dressed in play clothes, barefoot with sea-salt covered curls. It's really nice to meet you. You're finally who you always dreamed of."
