Tv personality, Toke Makinwa has stated it is sad when women continue with the women don't support themselves narratives.
In series of tweet on March 9, She agreed that there are some women who don't support other women, but called that the narrative should stop because it is false.
Toke said, "International Women’s day was yesterday and while we were all celebrating the journey we’ve all had so far and the biases we’ve broken there was yet groups of women who chose on this same day to continue with the women dont support women narrative. SAD
"While I agree that there are some bad eggs, pls let’s stop the narrative that women don’t support women
"Just cos you don’t hear what men do to men behind closed doors (cos a lot of men don’t speak up), the narrative that it is only women who don’t support women is loud but false.
"Humans in general are selfish, the instinct to survive is above everything else and I know that society has taught us women to see each other as threats cos to society there’s simply not enough room for more than one woman to shine, don’t fall for it.
"Women support women, loud this instead, let’s change the narrative with success stories, there’s more than enough room for us all to shine without putting each other down with the other narrative.
"Instead of condemning, choose to enlighten instead. You’ll be shocked how ignorant some people are."
