Police busts armed robbery syndicate, recovers ammunition in Kano state


Operatives of Kano state police command has busted an armed robber syndicate, following a report of their nefarious activities.

Command spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa disclosed that on February 27, a report was received from a resident of Dandinshe Quarters, Dala LGA, Kano state, that on February 26, unknown hoodlums boarded a tricycle from Dandinshe Quarters heading to Dorayi Sabon Titi via Samegu Quarters, the hoodlums conspired and attack him with knives and injured him.

The victim narrated that he fell down unconscious and the hoodlums made away with his tricycle.

Receiving the report, team of Puff Adder during the course of investigation, arrested one Mahmud Hamisu of Dandinshe Quarters in possession of the robbed tricycle. He confessed to be among the armed robbery syndicate and also led detectives to the arrest of his syndicate members.

Other members of the syndicate includes: Mustapha Aminu Muhammad and Ibrah Lawan Ibrahim, all of Tudun Fulani Quarters.

Commissioner of Police, CP Samaila Dikko ordered discreet investigation into the case. Suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.        

In another incident on February 23, Police operatives in a follow-up and mop up of suspects terrorizing the state. 

One, Hassan Adamu aged 30 of Kanka village, Gezawa LGA, was arrested by the team. 

On investigation, suspect confessed to series of atrocities and also led detectives to recovery of two (2) locally made Pistols and four (4) rounds of live ammunition sealed inside a Bajaj Motorcycle seat. Investigation is in progress.
