The Nigerian police force has presented cheques worth six million and five hundred thousand naira (N6,500,000) to 14 families of deceased police officers that died in the line of duty
Nassarawa state command spokesperson, ASP Ramhan Nansel disclosed that the cheque presentation was made by state command, commissioner of police, CP Adesina Soyemi, on behalf of Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali, on March 25, 2022.
He presented the families of cheque, urging them to make good use of the money, stating that the gesture is an initiative of the Inspector-General of Police “IGP family welfare” aimed at giving succour to the family of Police officers who died in active service. Furthermore, the gesture is aimed at spurring officers’ to greatness while discharging their statutory duties with the assurance that, their welfare is of paramount importance to the Administration of the Force.
While presenting the cheques, the Commissioner of Police thanked the Inspector-General of Police for his relentless efforts towards ensuring good welfare package for personnel of the Force and urged the beneficiaries to use the money wisely by investing in a profitable venture that will in turn, ameliorate the needs of the dependents left behind
The families thanked the IGP and pledge to make good use of the money.
