The Hisbah board in Kebbi state has seized over two hundred cartons of alcohol of different brands in an early morning operation in March 12, 2022.
Spokesperson, ICT unit, Aminu Adam Yakassi disclosed that Hisbah operatives acted on a tip-off that a car at a particular location around old market area was loaded with banned products and was about to be offloaded for sale to the general public.
This, according to the Commandant of the Hisbah Board run contrary to the laws of Kebbi state which banned the sale and consumption of alcohol in all parts of the state, with the exception of barracks and similar outposts.
The commandant, Alhaji Suleiman Mohammed, who spoke at the scene of the arrest, said the Board will continue to enforce the law until people learn to respect the laws of the state.
He noted that the matter will be investigated further and that the case will be handled in accordance with the law.
Mohammed urged law breakers to desist from their nefarious activities.
Meanwhile, efforts to speak to the owner of the seized items Mr Onoh Christian were unsuccessful.
