The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has debunked claims that it demanded a fresh payment of N1 trillion from federal government.
President, ASUU, Emmanuel Osodeke explained that it is not true, what the Union demanded is coming after the government agreed to spend N1.3 trillion in 2009.
He stated that the money was to be released N200 billion per year for five or six years, but it was not done, which is what the Union are asking for.
Osodeke expressed concern that there has been little progress on the part of the government as regards its engagement with the union over the past couple of days.
