Three people have been arrested for impersonating as health workers in Asarama community in Andoni local government area, Rivers state.
The suspects identified as Gift Harvest, Patrick Effiong and Williams Biranwi; posted as doctors and female nurse.
They were arrested following a tip off by Head of Medical Personnel in the local government.
Chairman of the local government, Erastus Charles Awortu confirmed the development, disclosing that the suspects were on illegal medical mission to Andoni without proof of qualifications.
He stated that the suspects had performed surgeries on some unsuspecting victim before they were caught, urging residents to be vigilant as criminals seeking to exploit the unsuspecting public can go to any length including endangering the lives of people to achieve their illegitimate and awful intentions.
