Operatives of Kano state police command has busted an armed robbery gang who terrorising some part of the state.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Abdullahi Kiyawa disclosed that the command has received a report on January 7, 2022 that armed robbers broke into some houses at Maidile Quarters, Western Bypass, Kumbotso LGA and robbed the residents of their Mobile Phones and other valuables.
Receiving the report, State command commissioner of police, CP Samaila Shu’aibu Dikko instructed a team of Operation Puff Adder led by SP Buba Yusuf to arrest the culprit and recover the properties robbed.
Kiyawa stated that the team immediately went to the scene and met one of the armed robbers trapped and attacked by the mob. He was rescued and rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano for treatment and further investigations.
Upon investigation, the suspect, Hussaini Hassan, ‘m’, aged 21 years old, of Zoo Road Quarters Kano, led Puff Adder Operatives to the arrest of their gang leader, one Ali Isah, ‘m’, alias "Aljan", aged 39 years old, of Tudun Murtala Quarters, Kano and other two syndicate members namely; Ismail JL, ‘m’, aged 42 years old, of Sabon Gari Quarters, Kano and Rabiu Ibrahim, ‘m’, aged 38 years old, of Hotoro Quarters, Kano.
The suspects were arrested with robbed properties, dangerous weapons and house breaking implements, and all have confessed to their offences. They will be charged to court after completion of investigation.
CP Dikko warned criminals to leave the state or repent as there will be no hiding place for them in the state.
