Senator Shehu Sani has condemned the gruesome killing of 42 passengers by suspected armed bandits on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, in Sokoto state.
It was reported that the passengers, who were traveling from Sabon Birni local government area of the state, were burnt by the bandits who blocked the road and set the vehicle ablaze.
Spokesperson of Sokoto state police command, ASP Sanusi Abubakar confirmed the incident.
Reacting to the sad news, Sani said, "this is an atrocity that could have triggered an outrage and utter condemnation of the failure of the Government, if it had happened under the previous administration.
"Those who are silent are same as those who are indifferent;those who are indifferent are same as those who perpetrated that crime.
"Nowhere in the world are human lives so cheap, dispensable and disposable."
