Police operatives has repelled the attack of suspected bandits on foot from attacking Wamba village along Kampani-Bobi/Bangi road Mariga LGA, on November 13, 2021.
This was made known by Niger state command, police public relations officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, stating that the police team were deployed to the area mobilized and vehemently repelled the bandits while the hoodlums later regrouped of the same date and reinforced on motorcycles to attack the same village.
The police team engaged the bandits in a gun battle in which the hoodlums later escaped into the forest with bullets injuries and abandoned three unregistered motorcycles.
Abiodun stated that efforts is ongoing to arrest the fleeing assailants, urging residents of Wamba village and its environs to report any person found with bullet injuries to the police and other security agencies.
Commissioner of police, CP Monday Kuryas commended the tactical teams for their gallantry performance and courage, urging them not to relent in the ongoing onslaught against banditry and other vices in the state.
