Operatives of Kano state police command has arrested a car washer, Abdullahi Sabo, aged 30, who stolen a motor vehicle, Honda Accord 2017 model.
Command public relations officer, DSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, disclosed that the command received a report from a resident of Badawa Quarters Kano, that her car which she took to a car wash was stolen, after she couldn't find the car and the carwash cleaner.
Receiving the report, Commissioner of police, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko instructed team of Operation Puff Adder led by CSP Alabi Lateef to recover the car and arrest the culprit.
Kiyawa disclosed that on preliminary investigation, the owner of the car wash was invited and he claimed to have hired Abdullahi Adamu a cleaner in the car wash center without knowing his identity. The owner said he left Abdullahi alone based on trust at the center.
The police operatives later arrested Abdullahi at Daura in possession of the stolen vehicle. He confessed to have stolen the vehicle at the said car wash in Kano, where he was hired, with intent to sell the vehicle.
The commissioner of police warned criminals to leave the state as their will be no hiding place for them.
