Nigerian army neutralises scores of terrorists in Kala Balge


Troops of the Nigerian Army (NA) has neutralized the attack of Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Province (ISWAP) terrorists who infiltrated Kala Balge town mounted on  gun trucks and motorcycles on Friday, 3 December 2021.

This was made known by director army public relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, disclosing that the terrorists attacked troops deployed at the Forward Operational Base (FOB), Rann, a border town between Nigeria and Cameron. 

He said the troops engaged terrorist with heavy firepower, forcing them to abandon their mission and withdrew in disarray. 

Nwachukwu stated that the troops neutralised 26 terrorists, capturing their combat vehicles, 18 AK 47 rifles and one M-21 rifle with large quantity of ammunition. He noted that several other equipment were also destroyed by troops. 

During the battle, two officers and five soldiers of the NA were killed, while three personnel who sustained gunshot wounds are currently receiving medical attention. 

COAS, Lit. Gen. Faruk Yahaya paid tribute to the men of NA that were killed during the attack. 

He has also commended troops for their gallantry in the North East,  especially with the recent successes  recorded in Gajiram and the Tumbus
