NAPTIP reunites 6-year-old trafficked girl with her parents, after 3 years apart

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has reunited a 6-year-old girl with her parents, on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, after 3 years apart.

The girl was abducted from her parents in Gombe state in 2019, and was taken to Anambra state, where she was sold under the guise of adoption.

After being not able to find her, the parents reported the case to NAPTIP who in support of the Department of State Security (DSS), were able to trace her abductor and in the process rescue other children, as well as arrest other suspects.

While handing over the children to their happy parents, the DG NAPTIP, Dr. Fatima Waziri-Azi applauded the efforts of the father for not relenting in his search for his daughter.

She stated that more percentage of human trafficking is done internally and interstate and  called on all parents and the whole of society to put an end to human trafficking as it takes a whole community to fight  human trafficking.
