The England Royal Family has awarded footballer Marcus Rashford with an MBE for his services to vulnerable children.

Rashford was awarded for his fundraising and campaigns for the provision of free school meals in England during holidays and lockdown, which was driven by his own childhood experiences.

He said, “I’ve been trying to spread positive messages to young kids, and me receiving this today is another message for them.”

Also, the Royal Family awarded Dame Sheila Hancock, who received her Damehood for services to drama and charity; and rugby player Alun Wyn Jones who was made an OBE for services to his sport.
