Lionel Messi becomes most player to win Ballon d'Or title, wins it for 7th time

Argentine forward, Lionel Messi has won the Ballon d’Or title for a breaking record of seventh time. 

He becomes the only football player in history to win the title for the 7th time, after Cristiano Ronaldo who currently has 5th to his name. 

Messi was announced the winner of the men's award at the awards ceremony held in Paris, France. 

He defeated Robert Lewandoski who came second, and Jorginho who came third in the Ballon d'Or ranking. 

Messi has now won the Ballon d'Or in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019 and 2021.
