Kebbi Governor Atiku approves over N3.219b for roads and drainages construction


Kebbi state Governor Abubakar Atiku has approved over N3.219 billion for the construction of access roads and drainages. 

A statement signed by special adviser media to the governor, Yahaya Sarki, stated the project is to promote development to the communities in the state. 

Explaining the cost of the project, Sarki disclosed that the roads project are at Bayan Oando and Tipper Garrage areas of Birnin Kebbi at the cost of One Billion, Five Hundred and Thirty One million,One Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Naira (N1,531,150,000).

Other road project includes Unguwan Zabarmawa Area of Birnin Kebbi at the cost of One Billion, One Hundred and Forty Six Million, Six Hundred and Ninety Thousand Naira (1,146,690,000) and another one at Behind Old CID Office, Malluwa and Rafin Atiku Areas at the cost of Five Hundred and Forty Million, Nine Hundred and Twenty Three Thousand Naira (540,923,000).

The scope of work include: Site clearance ,earth work, provision of sub-base,prime coat and asphalt, construction of culverts and drainages, stone pitching work, as well as the payment of compensation.

The media aide noted that it is pertinent to state that these areas are annually flooded and not motorable during rainy season.

He added that the governor is conducting the project to ameliorate the difficulties being faced by the people in those communities.
