Tanker spiils its content in lone accident in Lagos


The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) has reported that a tanker has spilled its content, on Saturday, October 23, to Alaka inward National Stadium bridge, Western Avenue, Surulere, Lagos. 

A statement released by LSFRS, Director, Adeseye Margaret, revealed that the tanker, which is 45,000 litres, belongs to one of the major marketer in the oil and gas industry was conveying Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS) from Lagos depot to an unknown destination before reportedly invaded in a lone accident resulting to spillage of its contents. 

She disclosed that the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) were on ground to help divert traffic from both the fast and service lane to the outward bound while pleading with motorists to corporate and exercise utmost caution within the axis given the volatility of the products involved. 

Margaret noted that there was no trace of injury or death as none of the driver or assistant were in sight. 

She added that with the joint effort of their federal counterpart, they were able to prevent the situation from getting worse.
