Police arrests suspected criminals in separate operations in Delta state


Operatives of the Delta state police command attached to Bomadi divisional patrol team has arrested a 37 year old man, Solomon Ebe, for the possession of 340 rounds of AK47 live ammunition which was inside a bad containing garri. 

DSP Bright Edafe, state police public relations officer, revealed this in a statement, disclosing that the man was arrested on October 1, 2020, during a stop and search operation along Bomadi/Tuomo road, where they stopped a cyclist carrying him.

In another operation on October 30, 2021, the DPO 'A' Division Warri had acted on a distress call that a tricycle with registration No FHR 600 QF has been snatched by four armed gang at Hausa quarters and were headed towards Delta line, Sapele road, Warri.


The DPO deployed rapid response team, which went after the robbers. The team on sighting them, gave them a hot chase and in the process, one of the suspects named Efe David ‘m’  age 22 years  jumped down from the tricycle  and was arrested  while the other three escaped with the tricycle. 

Information was quickly disseminated to other Divisions and vigilantes which fortunately led to the arrest of one of them by vigilante with the snatched tricycle while two of the robbers escaped. The Vigilantes were over powered by irate mob who delivered instant jungle justice on the suspect. The tricycle, cut to size double barrel gun with two live cartridges  and some suspected stolen pieces of gold plated jewelries were recovered.



Also, on 29th October, 2021, the command raider squad had raided Utuloho street Ozoro, which which one English double barrel gun and 26 live cartridges were recovered in possession of one female, Ejiro Efemijoghor, who claimed that the gun belongs to her husband.
