NSCDC arrests gang of cattle rustlers, suspected bandits in Sokoto


Operatives of the Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Sokoto command has arrested a gang of cattle rustlers and suspected bandits at Fadamar Lugu of Giyawa district. 

The NSCDC disclosed that officers and men of Wurno division in collaboration with the vigilante group of the local government area has arrested seven suspects and recovered 54 cattles, which are has been kept in safe custody of the local government authority. 

Upon investigation, the Corps discovered linkage of all arrested suspects with high profile bandits carrying out different forms of attack in the axis of Sokoto east. 

The suspects includes: Buba Alh Bello (Dan delu) aged 20 yrs; Abdullahi Hassan (Yellow) aged 22 yrs; Alti Shehu (Alti) aged 25 yrs; Sani Alhaji Duna aged 18 yrs; Abu Gidado aged 20 yrs, Shehu Modibbo (Dan Acha) aged 20 yrs and Ibrahim Modi (Majo) aged 20 yrs. 

In another development, two suspected bandits and their informants were arrested by men of Tsamiya out-post at Dabagi Lafiya of Dange Shuni LG following a tip-off. 

The suspects had confessed to their involvement in two operations carried out at Lambar Tureta and Dorawa which left about 6 persons dead and a host of others kidnapped. 

The suspected bandits are Muhammad Aminu aged 20 yrs and Buba Alh. Garba aged 30 yrs, while their informants include Umar Sanda aged 48 yrs and Nura Bello aged 34 yrs. 

State commandant of the NSCDC assured members of the public that the suspects will be charged to court, once the investigations are completed.
