Kwara state government signs minimum wage agreement with labour unions in the state


Kwara state Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman has signed minimum wage agreement with the labour unions in the state, on October 1, 2021.

He noted that the meeting consolidates that the payment for levels 1 to 6 had begun in February 2021 by his administration, saying, 

We signed the minimum wage table and agreement for grade levels 1 to 6 in line with the legal requirements and as a show of good faith for the workers. What is certain is we care for and want the best for them. We hope to conclude the other part of the negotiations for the senior workers as soon as possible. 

Governor Abdulrahman commended the labour unions for their understanding, adding that  the government remains committed to the welfare of the people, including the civil servants who are the engine room of public service delivery. 

He added that his administration remains passionate about making the state work for all and the worker's welfare a priority.
