Following the six-hour outage of Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram; Facebook Inc has revealed that the cause of the outage was due to faulty configuration changes on its routers.
The social media and messaging company in a blog post disclosed that its engineering team have learnt that configuration changes on the backbone routers that coordinate network traffic between its data centers cause issues that interrupted the communication, Reuters report.
