Delta state police command has arrested several criminal elements during operations in the state.
DSP Bright Edafe of the command public relations officer, had disclosed this, revealing that the operatives, during a raid in Koko Oghara and some areas in Sapele, on 13th September, 2021, had arrested one suspected cultist, Rukevwe Afakpor 'm' 29yrs old, one locally made double barrel gun and three live cartridges were recovered from him.
In another development, on 15th September, 2021, the Force in conjunction with vigilante while on stop and search along Okpara-Okurekpo road Isiokolo flagged down a lady's motor cycle with three passengers.
Upon searching the passengers, one of them named Oghenenyerhovwo Solomon was found with one cut-to- size locally made double barrel gun, and was promptly arrested and the motorcycle impounded. The other two passengers had escaped into the bush, and being searched for.
In recent occurrence, on 16th September, 2021, the police had received information that a three man armed robber gang had robbed an unknown victim and we're operating in a black Toyota corolla car with registration number RBC 218 BL grey in color.
The Divisional rapid response team responding to action had extending their patrol to enable the arrest of the robbers.
Upon sighting the police, the robbers had a gun duel with the Force team, in which one of the robbers sustained serious gun shot injury which led to his death at the hospital while two others escaped with bullets wound. The suspect while receiving treatment at the hospital, gave his name as Andrew and admitted to be a member of the imomotimi group, a dare devil gang that has been on the command wanted list.
The police recovered one locally made pistol loaded with a life cartridge , one hundred and thirty thousand naira, one small nokia phone and the the above mentioned car.
