A pastor of ECWA church, Reverend Silas Yakubu Ali has been killed by unknown men after going missing during his journey for Kafanchan on Saturday September 11, 2021.
Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this in a statement, revealing that security agencies had reported the case to the state government.
The report stated that the Reverend was not heard from until his corpse was found by a search party early on Sunday at Kibori community, near Asha-Awuce, where he was apparently attacked and macheted to death.
Governor Nasir El-rufai expressed sadness at the report of the killing, describing it as horrifying and cruel. He prayed for the repose of the soul of the cleric, urging security agencies to intensify efforts towards apprehending the perpetrators.
He sent condolences to the family of the deceased and to the church, while appealing to members of the community to maintain calm.
