Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS), Adeseye Margaret has disclosed that the service had prevented a fire outbreak after a 50,000 litres tanker filled with diesel had accidentally upturned its cargo and spilled it contents.
The incident which occurred at Apapa road, opposite Iveco Motor park, inward Iganmu, Ijora, Lagos state, was ameliorated by the Sari Iganmu fire station of the LSFRS and relevant emergency responders.
The accident was reported at 1720 hours while preliminary investigation revealed that the Tanker which was loaded at NIPCO Terminal, Apapa is mobile to FCT, Abuja.
Margaret revealed that there has been no record of injury nor death as the axis has been cordon and traffic is being managed.
