Accident involving tanker filled with 45,000 litres of PMS and tipper truck occurs in Lagos

Residents of Lekki-Epe expressway, Lagos, are on high alert as an accident involving a Mack Tanker with a yet to be ascertained registration number, fully laden with 45,000 litres of Petroleum Motor Spirit and a Tipper Truck had occurred today, Sunday, 12th September, 2021.

Adeseye Margaret, Director, Lagos state fire and rescue service, had disclosed this in a statement, revealing that the tanker was hit by the run away truck, spilling its contents while trying to enter an NNPC filling station it is meant to service. 

The incident occurred at Majek Bus stop, inward Sangotedo, Lekki-Epe expressway. 

The fire service are mitigating the situation with the deployment of Chemical Foam Compound to neutralize the Petrol from causing a secondary incident.

Also, motorists and passers-by are advised to move with caution around the corridor until evacuation is completed.
