Unknown men has attacked Ungwan Dooh (Mado) village of Zangon Kataf LGA, Kaduna state, leaving many persons feared dead and one person injured. This was disclosed in a statement signed by Commissioner, Ministry of internal security and home affairs, Samuel Aruwan, stating that attack was reported by troops of Operation Safe Haven, who responded to distress call and mobilized the area. So far, nine persons have been recovered dead following search, while one person sustain gunshot injuries and is receiving treatment in hospital. Two houses were also razed down during the attack. The deceased has been identified as Moses Dangana, Mary Dangana, Jummai Dangana, Jerry James, Happy James, Endurance Stephen, Comfort Emmanuel, Jummai Tanko and Mary Clement. While the person injured was identified as Magdalene Dangoma. Also, 12 persons were rescued during the attack. The statement revealed that troops are still carrying out search and rescue operations. Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe condemned the attack, and prayer for the repose of the souls of the deceased. She also sent condolences to their families, and wished the injured victim a quick recovery.
