Troops prevent attack in Kaduna, arrests one suspect

Nigerian troops of Operation Safe Haven has prevented an attack in Magamiya village of Zangon Kataf local government area, Kaduna state. 

This was revealed in a statement signed by Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, stating that the troops reported the matter to the government of the state. 

According to the report, gunmen had invaded some fields in the village, shooting sporadically. Troops responded to a distress call, mobilized to the village and engaged the assailants, successfully repelling them.

The statement revealed that one of the attackers, identified as Yusuf Aliyu, was arrested by the troops and put in custody for further investigation.

Also,  a resident, Shedrack Yohanna was hit on his left arm by a stray bullet during the attack, and is currently receiving treatment and in stable condition. 

Governor El-rufai thanked the troops, commending them for their alertness in stopping the attack. He wished the injured resident a quick recovery, urging them to conduct a thorough investigation.
