Delta state Governor Ifeanyi Okowa was congratulated althlete, Ese Brume, for winning a bronze medal in the Olympic Long Jump event at Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The governor stated that before the event, he earlier called her in Japan, urging her to bring home Nigeria's first medal at the Olympics, and she did. Governor Okowa said that the entire Nigeria is proud of her for bringing home Nigeria's first Olympics track and field medal since 2008.
