Cuban-born American singer, Camila Cebello has shared her experience after visiting families and children seeking asylum at U.S.-Mexico border. Being an immigrant herself, Cebello said that the experience of visiting them was truly humbling, saying, Being able to listen to these families and children tell their stories helped me understand their journeys and opened my heart to what we can all be doing to help. Sharing this on her social media page. Cebello explained that the parents there, had some of the same hopes and their dreams for their children as her mom had for her when they left Cuba, adding that her story with her mother started out in search of a better life but timing created two completely different outcomes. The singer stated to members of the public that they have an opportunity on how they can protect some of the most vulnerable communities and ensure that people desperately seeking help at the border are welcomed with love and dignity.
