Plateau crisis: Lagos evacuates 64 resident students, three weeks baby from UNIJOS

Following the recent crisis in Plateau state, the Lagos state government has joined other states in evacuating people in the crisis area, most especially students of Lagos, schooling in University of Jos (UNIJOS). 

The government has successfully evacuated the first set of evacuees, comprising of 64 UNIJOS students and a three weeks baby, named Daniella, who was delivered shortly before the crisis in Plateau by her mother, Manya Banfe, a 200-level student.

The students, who were accompanied by security agents and government officials arrived at the Lagos state secretariat on Friday, and let with Governor Sanwo-Olu before being released to their families. 

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by state commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, stated that his administration is committed to welfare of the people of the state, especially the youths, adding that welfare packages had been arranged for the students to return to their families safe and sound. 

The students thanked the governor for coming to the rescue, and prayed for God's blessings on the Lagos state government.
