Management of the National Youth Service Corps has described as false reports on social media stating that all Corps members going to Kaduna state were killed on their way. It stated that no prospective Corps members were killed on their way to NYSC orientation camps in Kaduna state, but it however has lost five prospective Corps members travelling to the orientation camps in a ghastly motor accident on Abuja/Kwali road on 28th July, 2021. The management said that some people have twisted the story of the autocrash, by making allusion that the prospective Corps members were slaughtered, adding that their purpose is to cause panic and disaffection among Nigerians. Describing such act as being highly mischievous, The Service urged members of the public to disregard such story as the said incident never happened Management wishes to implore the purveyors of this fake news and others to have a rethink, saying that it behoves us to work individually, collectively and in concert to build a great Nation that we shall all be proud to bequeath posterity, this cannot be achieved by wilful spread of fake news. It stressed that the NYSC will continue to alive to its responsibilities not only to Crops members, but also the nation. Speaking the prospective Corps members who died in a motor accident, the Service said that the remains of the Corps members has been flown to their respective home states, preparatory for burial.
