Governor of Niger state, H. E. Sani Bello has paid visit to Ma'undu village in Mariga local government area, in other to boost the morale of security operatives that liberated the community from bandits.
This was disclosed in a statement by chief press secretary to the governor, Mary Noel-Berje, stating that the governor explained that there was no bandit camps in the state, noting that the bandits come in from neighboring states particularly Zamfara state to carry out their nefarious activities.
Government Bello stated to the community, which has been previously deserted by its members for about one year due to banditry activities, that there is need for synergy among states affected the activities of the bandits, pointing that Individual state efforts wouldn't yield the desired result.
He maintained that the state government will continue to make every effort to secure affected communities and assured that feeder roads and culvert will be provided for the community to ease mobility.
The governor commended the security operatives for their efforts and promised continued support to the security personnel especially in the areas of logistics and welfare for best results.
He charged the security operatives to remain focused and be wary of informants, adding that the families of the security personnel will be taken care of by the government.
Commissioner of Police, Niger state command, Monday Kuryas said that there have been lots of security operations against the bandits, assuring that the combined forces will not relent in their efforts to restore peace in the society.
