Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has responded to a video trending online of a driver of a Sienna car, with registration number FST 743 EJ, disposing wastes from his vehicle into a drainage channel. The Authority condemned the action, stating the driver will will be made to face the law, for undermining efforts of the state government to make environment cleaner and safer. LAWMA disclosed that it would work with other security agencies to ensure that the driver is fished out, noting that there is no hiding place for anyone, who engages and indulges in any environmental misdemeanor, such person will be made to face the consequences, through heavy sanctions by the court. Giving reason, the Authority explained that these acts if not checked will expose the environment and residents to ominous dangers and hazardous consequences. LAWMA appealed to residents of the state to be cooperative by shunning all forms of indiscriminate disposal of wastes and patronising assigned PSP operators.
