Operatives of the Lagos state Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has arrested two armed robbers along Akowonjo road, Alimosho, on Tuesday August 10, 2021. Commander, Lagos RRS CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi stated the suspects, Samuel Akabueze age 31 and Onuoha Joshua age 37 were arrested driving a Lexus jeep (LSD 666 GK) due to the suspicious instinct of the RRS operatives. Giving detail of their arrest, He said, "The suspects were trailed by the team before their eventual arrest for underhand dealings. Some of the illegal items found on them include a locally made gun with two rounds of ammunition, four stolen ATM cards, charms, BRT cowry cards, two different set keys for Lexus SUV and a motorcycle”. CSP Egbeyemi stated that upon further interrogation, the suspects confessed to be members of Aiye confraternity cult, and has been involved in series of robberies across the state. He said that the suspects has been transferred to the state police command for further investigation in line with the directive of state commissioner of police, CP Hakeem Odumosu. In addition, the suspect, Akabueze lives at 34, Valentine Obasi street, Idimu road, while Joshua lives at 52, Yusuf street, Ipaja.
