Lagos CP Hakeem Odumosu orders full enforcement of restriction order of state government on Okada operators

Lagos state Commissioner of police, CP Hakeem Odumosu has directed officers of the state to embark on full enforcement of restriction order of the state government on Okada operations in part of the state.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by state command, police public relations officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stating that the CP gave the order while reacting to the lawlessness and recklessness exhibited by some road users, especially Okada riders.

The CP ordered that road users who drive against traffic and on BRT corridors, should be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.

He also warned security operatives, who violate traffic laws in the state, to desist from such act or else face arrest and prosecution.

Odumosu appealed to Lagosians to desist from violating traffic laws and encouraged road users to do the same as the commander will implement full enforcement of the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law of 2018 and other extant laws of Lagos State.

He wanted police operatives who are to see to the enforcement of the order to act with the ambit of the law and discharge their duties devoid of extortion or corrupt practices in any form.
