Imo state has began the removal of illegal shanties, illegal structure and eradication of street trading around the state. This was disclosed in a statement signed by General manager, Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), stating that the street trading eradication will be in the following areas: IMSU back gate to Chukwuma Nwoha road extending to Egbu road, Hospital Junction to Work bank roundabout, Orji flyover and its environs Other areas includes:Amakohia flyover and it environs, Akwakuna roundabout, Emmanuel college roundabout, Royce road/Rotimi street, Mbaise Road by Douglas Roundabout and all other areas within the Capital Territory where shanties are located. OCDA advised owners of shanties and street traders to remove and evacuate immediately, adding that the operation will be carried out in conjunction with ENTRACO and other relevant government agencies.
