IGP receives report of NPF panel on Abba Kyari

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali has received the report of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) special investigation panel that is investigating the alleged indictment of the former head of the police intelligence response team, DCP Abba Kyari, by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI. 

This was disclosed in a statement by police public relations officer, CP Frank Mba, stating that the report was submitted by the chairman of the panel, DIG Joseph Egbunike, at the Force headquarters, Abuja. 

While presenting the report, Egbunike thanked the IGP for the confidence reposed in him and members of the panel to conduct the probe, adding that the report is an outcome of painstaking, transparent and exhaustive investigative process. 

He stated that the report presented contained the case file of the probe, evidences and findings as well as testimonies from Kyari and other persons and groups linked to the case. 

IGP Alkali commended the panel for the work done, stating that the importance of the probe is to carry out investigations into the allegations levied against Kyari to enable the Force leadership be properly guided in its decision making processes.

He assured the report will be carefully reviewed and thereafter forward to appropriate quarters for necessary action.
