Edo state Governor Godwin Obaseki has expressed sadness on the passing of legendary musician, Sir Victor Uwaifo, describing his death as shocking and sad. The governor praised Uwaifo as a talented, phenomenal and an illustrious son of the state, who wowed the world with his array of skills in music. According to him, "An all-round artist; Prof. Uwaifo was an enigma who made music for all, bringing the contemporary Benin culture to the world stage and providing vicarious experience of the peculiarities of our art and culture to a global audience. He prayed that God grant the deceased family, friends and associates the fortitude to bear the loss
